Saber rings with metal fasteners
They consist of two leather rails, a first with a "D" and a brass saber hook and a second longer leather.
The two bails are joined together with a brass piece used to clip on the belt.
This makes it possible to put it on and remove it very quickly
This system appeared around 1859, invented by J.E.B Stuart, and continued to be used in the US cavalry, until the 1900s.
Black leather with brass.
